IPC-7721 Recertification for Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) Course

This course is for Operators previously certified to IPC-7721 Repair and Modification of printed boards and assemblies. This course provides a thorough review of IPC recommended techniques, tools, equipment and materials required to perform printed wiring board repairs and modifications on Plated Through Hole and Surface Mount Assemblies.

Objectives:

The student will understand the technical guidelines of the IPC-7721 by developing and demonstrating the skills necessary to perform repair at the advanced level.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the IPC 7721 by successfully completing open book exam
• Demonstrate recommended land replacement techniques
• Demonstrate recommended plated through hole repair techniques
• Demonstrate recommended jumper wire installation techniques
• Demonstrate recommended conformal coating removal techniques
• Demonstrate recommended laminate repair

What the learner receives:

• IPC 7721 Student Training Notes
• Printed circuit board repair kit
• CIS Certificate

Students will receive an IPC 7721 "Operator Proficiency" certificate with an overall score of 70% or better, on classroom written exams and demonstrate acceptable Class 3 repairs and modifications on practical exam.
