IPC 7711 Recertification for "Application Specialist (CIS) Operator Course"

This course is for Operators previously certified to IPC-7711 Rework of Electronic Assemblies. This course provides a thorough review of the IPC recommended techniques, tools, equipment and materials required to perform removal and replacement operations on Plated Through Hole and Surface Mount Assemblies.

Objectives:

The student will understand the technical guidelines of the IPC 7711 by developing and demonstrating the skills necessary to perform rework at the advanced level.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the IPC 7711 by successfully completing open book exam
• Remove and replace Plated Through Hole components
• Remove and replace Chip and Melf Surface Mount components
• Remove and replace SOIC Gull Wing and SOT Surface Mount components
• Remove and replace J-lead Surface Mount components

These activities will be completed using a variety of methods including vacuum extraction, component specific tip, tweezer tips, and a hot air removal system.

What the learner receives:

• IPC 7711 Manual
• Rework kit

Students will receive an IPC 7711 "Application Specialist (CIS) Operator" certificate with an overall score of 70% or better, on classroom written exam and demonstrate acceptable Class 3 rework on practical exam.
